What is chancroid?
Chancroid is a bacterial infection that causes open sores at or around the genitals area. Chancroid is rarely seen in Thailand.
How is chancroid spread?
Through unprotected sex with the infected person.
What are the common symptoms of chancroid?
The symptom is either one or more open sores at the genitals for both men and women. It typically begins after four to seven days after being infected.
Is chancroid curable?
Chancroid is curable by using either antibiotic or surgical means, but surgical treatment may cause some light scarring in the infected area.
